Celebrity Homes: Ellen Pompeo’s Los Angeles Villa

If you turned on a TV in the last 10 years you’re bound to have seen Ellen Pompeo playing Meredith Grey on the hit show Grey’s Anatomy. When not on the set or working for her own production company, Ellen is at home in LA with her husband, music producer Chris Ivery, and their two daughters. They purchased their home in 2009 knowing it needed a lot of work but Ellen enjoys a project.

Here’s a look at Ellen Pompeo’s Los Angeles villa and the transformed 16,000 square foot 1930’s Mediterranean abode:

The Views

The home is surrounded by gorgeous views. To take full advantage of them Ellen had windows enlarged throughout the home and built an expansive terrace off the living room. The terrace includes wicker furniture and is shaded by a fun black and white striped awning.

Kitchen

Ellen’s kitchen is stunning. It includes beautiful dark artisan cabinets, oven, and range by La Cornue, an oversized fridge, and a custom pot rack. All of the dark cabinets are offset by the white marble backsplash and the light that floods in from the large window over the sink.

Kids Rooms

We love the fun rooms Ellen created for her daughters. She didn’t shy away from color so both rooms use bold yet playful colors. She also used plush rugs and funky patterns on the fabrics.

The Master Bedroom

The master bedroom has rich oak paneled walls, luscious silk carpeting and a bed that is surrounded by a canopy with black curtains. These beautiful dark features are offset by the french doors, framed with white curtains, that fill the room with light.

The Master Bath

Our favorite part of the master bath is the black and white claw-foot tub in the center of the room. It also includes a large glass walled shower and more french doors that reflect light off the mirrors found above the vanity.
