Before the installation process begins, get organized. Get all of your tools and materials together to make installing your underlayment as simple and straightforward as possible. Doing so will keep your project running smoothly.

Here’s what you will need to install your underlayment.

  • Felt Cushion 3-in-1 flooring underlayment
  • Broom and Dustpan
  • Tape
  • Scissors or a Utility Knife

Now that you’re ready, let’s get started!

Step 1: Prepare Your Subfloor.

Your subfloor should not have any dirt or debris on it when you install the underlayment. This can damage the padding and your flooring.Check Your Subfloor

Do a visual inspection for any cracks, holes, protruding objects, unevenness, or moisture. If you notice any of these damages, stop the installation process and have them fixed. Do not continue until your subfloor is in good shape.
