Laminate Flooring: The Pet Friendly Flooring

Laminate flooring is known as the the pet friendly flooring option. Scratch resistance, moisture resistance, and low maintenance are just a few reasons why laminate flooring is perfect for a busy home with pets!

Laminate Is Scratch Resistant

Never fear! Laminate flooring is one of the most pet friendly floors on the market. Laminate has a wear layer which is resistant to scratches, nicks, and of course, those long toenails that man’s best friend has. You won’t need to worry about your pets rough housing when you install this pet friendly flooring!

Laminate flooring will work well in many areas of your home. If your pet happens to be a cat or a dog, laminate flooring will be perfect for the new member of your family! Most pet owners do not trim their dog’s nails as often as they should, therefore; laminate flooring works perfectly. Even if your cat still has its claws, you will not need to worry about your floors!  If you had opted for hardwood, your pet’s nails would leave many unsightly scratches throughout your flooring. With laminate floor, these scratches will be minimal, if at all.

Cleaning Is A Breeze

You don’t have to worry about your pets hair getting trapped in carpet. With a simple sweeping, your room will be instantly restored. Laminate flooring also does not hold any odors and is safe for the whole family due to its hypoallergenic properties. Laminate wood flooring is very low maintenance. One daily sweep of the floor and a periodic mop cleaning will be enough to keep your floor in perfect shape. It is best to use a water and vinegar solution when doing a deep cleaning of your floor. Vinegar has fantastic antibacterial properties that will disinfect your floor as it restores its original shine for little to no cost.

Keep An Eye Out For Accidents

Keep an eye on your new pets as they roam through your house. If you see an accident happen, clean it up immediately. If water begins to build up or pool on your laminate flooring, you may start to see little bubbles forming. Be sure to take the time to work with your new pet while still taking care of your wood floor. In the end, everyone will be happy and you will enjoy your laminate flooring for years to come. Maintaining your laminate floor involves minimal work if you do so routinely. Be sure to keep up on the maintenance of your laminate flooring and it will last for many years to come.

  1. One great advantage of having laminate floor is that the odor from the pet does not get trapped in it, unlike carpet. This means that your house will no longer smell like a dog pound! Laminate flooring is a much better option than carpet.

We agree with you Lee. Carpet is not the best solution for a busy household, not to mention when you have animals around.
