The holidays are here and now is the time of year when you want your home to look its best. You’ll be entertaining. You’ll have friends and family stopping by, sometimes unexpectedly! Your house needs to look amazing.
If you’ve been meaning to give your living room a makeover, or just want to add some new touches for winter season, here are a few ways you can incorporate cool Christmas colors for your home.
Start with the Sofa
Your family will spend a lot of time sitting around chatting. As you gather, your sofa is perhaps one of the first items in your room that they’ll notice. Having a grandiose, luxurious sofa will set the tone for your living room and make your space more inviting. Choose sofa colors that are neutral so you can add colors that coordinate with any season!
Use Colorful Pillows
Lighten up your room with metallic pillows! Using silver, copper, or gold pillows adds a touch of wintery lightness and sparkle. If metallic is too much for you, use a fun pattern! You make your room look more festive without going overboard. You can use red, beige, or blue to bring in holiday colors without having to go for the classic red and green combo.
Your floors should match the cool wintery greys and whites. If you’re planning to redo your laminate, try a modern color. Grey flooring looks great year-round! It’s versatile enough to look good no matter the season. Then, top your grey laminate flooring with a white area rug. This will bring out the cool tones of Christmas in a way that’s elegant and comforting.
Add Festive Touches to Walls
Instantly turn your walls into a winter wonderland with some festive touches. If you have plain old white walls, use removable vinyl decals to turn that drab color into a wintery field of snow. With forest and snowflake decals, you can bring new life into your room just in time for the Christmas season. The best part? When you’re done with it, you can remove the decals and pack them up for next winter!
The Christmas Tree
No Christmas decor is complete without a Christmas tree. Incorporate a fake Christmas tree that has snow capped (flocked) branches. This will keep the cool colors consistent throughout the room and still add a festive, holiday touch.
