Laminate flooring is available in various thicknesses.

Thicker floors are sturdier and more resistant to high impact traffic. Thicker laminate floors can be installed over more types of subfloors due to the strength that is added during the production process. A thicker laminate flooring is recommended for high commercial wear areas, as well as busy office spaces.

Thinner laminate flooring is also durable, budget friendly and performs just like thicker options when it is installed over sturdy subfloors, such as concrete or cement. The thickness of laminate flooring does not change the installation process.

Laminate flooring makes for a great DIY project, no matter what the thickness of the laminate floor.
