Can I Use Laminate Flooring Under Cabinets?

When installing laminate in kitchens and bathrooms, cabinets or any hardware that is meant to be permanently bolted to the floor cannot be installed on top of the laminate. Installing these items on top of your new flooring will cause pressure and prohibit the flooring to adjust to temperature changes. This will cause the flooring to buckle, destroy the locking system and ruin your flooring permanently.

You will need to install permanent items to your subfloor first, then install the flooring around those areas. This will allow enough expansion for the flooring to expand and contract through the seasons.

However, furnishings and decorations that simply lie on the floor are not a problem.
