Homeowners often ask ‘Can I install laminate flooring myself?’ Laminate flooring is known for being a great project for homeowners that love to work on home improvement projects themselves. If you are a person who can pay attention to detail, follow instructions, and find someone to help; you will be able to install laminate flooring by yourself. Thousands of homeowners have taken on the process of laminate flooring installation, including many Bestlaminate customers. The process of installing laminate flooring can be very tricky, but if you follow directions and take your time, you will be proud of your flooring for years to come.

Step 1:

The first step to a successful installation is proper measurement. Grab a tape measure and precisely measure your space. Before you tackle the installation project, find a helper that will be available to help with carrying boxes, preparing planks and assisting with cutting. When dealing with the boxes of flooring, be sure to treat each box like gold. Accidentally bumping or dropping a box could lead to damage in the locking system, which makes the planks useless.

I didn’t previously know you could install laminate flooring yourself, so I think my cousin and I will give it a try this weekend. We’ve already got all the old flooring ripped up and the subfloor scraped clean, so that shouldn’t be an issue. It’s always good to know that we can call a professional in to fix everything if we mess up though.
