If you’ve ever wanted to marry traditional design elements with everyday luxury, then you’ll want to get to know interior designer Alessandra Branca.
Branca was born in Rome. Perhaps it was her historic hometown that taught her the importance of living among art and elegance. Or perhaps it was her upbringing in the Italian city that inspired her to appreciate “old-world craftsmanship.” No matter what her inspiration, one thing is certain – Branca knows what it takes to turn an ordinary room into a chic masterpiece.
We’re not the only one to recognize her talents. Branca has received accolades from ELLE DÉCOR, House Beautiful, Architectural Digest, and more.
In 1981, Branca opened her design firm. In 2013, she launched her first fabric, and home and fashion accessory collections. Now, she spends her time globetrotting between New York, Rome, Harbour Island, and Chicago.
To give you a sense of Branca’s style, here are a few insights from her designs.
Don’t be afraid to use interesting shapes.
Branca’s vacation home was featured in Architectural Digest. In the magazine, you can see a staircase lined with red geometric shapes and blue railings. This modern look might sound overwhelming, but with its simplistic style and clean lines it fits in the space.
Colors add depth to your rooms.
In a Chicago Townhouse designed by Branca, she does not hold back on the bright reds used throughout the rooms. There is a red accent wall, red in the fabrics on all the furniture, red lamp shades, and even red trim on one of the tables. The way Branca elegantly incorporates this bright hue adds depth to the room and richness to the space.
Use traditional furniture for a chic twist.
To add chic elements to her rooms, Branca uses traditionally designed furniture. From simple stepping stools to large armoires with geometric shapes, Branca seamlessly incorporates patterns, lines, and design.
Match your décor to your area.
Looking through Branca’s interiors, it’s easy to see that the area around her heavily influences her designs. For example, the Hamptons Pool House that she designed features nautical theme décor throughout.
