How Can I Replace a Damaged Laminate Flooring Plank in the Middle of the Room?

Accidents happen. Unfortunately if an accident severe enough happens to your laminate flooring, you might wonder how you can replace a damaged laminate flooring plank. If it’s in the middle of the room, this task can seem more daunting. Luckily, we have a few options for you that might help with your stressful situation!

When a board sustains damage in the middle of a laminate floor, you have a few options for replacing it.

Option A

• Disassemble the floor down to the damaged board.
• Get an undamaged board in perfect condition
• Replace the damaged board
• Reassemble the flooring

This option is not always practical. It is time consuming, and is especially a hassle in large rooms filled with furniture.

Option B

• Cut Out the Damaged Board using a saw in good condition
• Get an undamaged board in perfect condition
• Measure area that is cut out
• Glue in replacement board using a high quality wood glue

This solution requires some skill, but can yield good results if you measure carefully and cut with a sure hand.

Option C

• Try and repair the damaged plank
• If damage is severely scratched – try using a repair kit to cover up the scratches
• The kit will give you a variety of color mixes
• Try to make a mixture to match the color of your flooring
• Cover up the scratches using a paint brush or spoon & let dry

If board’s damaged is more than scratches and has severe indentations or pieces mission you will need to do Option A or Option B.
