Laminate flooring is constructed to be durable and often withstands common house hold mishaps such as stains, fading, and scratching. However, some mishaps can be more extreme than others, leaving an unsightly deep scratch in your beautiful flooring. Luckily, there are options for making it available to repair scratches on laminate flooring.
Use A Repair Kit
There are repair kits available for purchase that come with different colored putty solutions allowing you to mix together creating a perfect match for your flooring.
Replace The Plank
If the scratch damage is too deep and is not repairable you can always replace that plank. To do so, you remove all of the laminate flooring leading to the damaged plank, remove the plank, and then replace all of the previous planks. It’s a little time-consuming depending on where the scratch is, but it’s inexpensive if you’ve saved the leftover laminate flooring from your installation.
How To Prevent Scratches
Investing in furniture pads to place underneath furniture is a very wise decision. Doing so will help prevent deep scratches that are sometimes not repairable. You can also use a rug underneath your couches and chairs to protect from the furniture shifting.
