You’re thinking on installing laminate flooring, but you have kids and pets to worry about ruining your new floors. You may wonder, “Is laminate flooring stain resistant?” The short answer is, yes!
Prove It!
We know, it sounds too good to be true, right? Laminate flooring is made up of several layers, the top layer being an aluminum oxide coating. Aluminum oxide makes the laminate flooring stain resistant and also protects the flooring from dents, dings, and scratches. Things like coffee, wine, and sodas are not a problem with laminate flooring. Most of these items can simply be cleaned up with a damp cloth, followed by a dry cloth, if you get to it quick enough. For tougher stains like permanent marker, nail polish and lipstick, you can easily clean the mess up with acetone.
Laminate Is Perfect For Busy Homes
This is one of the biggest deciding factors when purchasing laminate flooring. The stain resistance makes laminate the perfect flooring solution for busy homes with children and pets. Little mishaps, spills, and puppy problems are no longer major issues because they can be cleaned up easily. Unlike carpet, laminate flooring will not hold stains and will look great for years to come. No expensive cleaning services or stain removers are necessary as you can simply wipe the mess away!

My son has a pair of sneakers with black soles, when he walks on my laminate floors he leaves prints from the soles f his sneakers that are almost impossible to remove.
Hi William, yes scuff marks can be hard! We recommend using either a white eraser or goo gone. First, try a white eraser and follow with a water and vinegar solution. You can also try adding Goo Gone to a paper towel and rubbing the scuff mark. Wipe with the water and vinegar solution to remove the residue. Let us know if this helps with cleaning!
