Labeled the “Field of Dreams Home”, home builder Scott Maynes and his sister, designer Karen Jones, created this home with a traditional focus that blended with the modern necessities of the 21st century. Building this home for a larger family, space, functionality and lifestyle were huge factors in the design. All About Home Design chose a Quick-Step Malted Tawny Oak Laminate to lay throughout the home. With tough durability, the laminate works perfectly with a busy household.
No detail was overlooked in this farmhouse build, which won awards such as Best Craftsmanship, Best Kitchen, Best Floorplan, Best Exterior Architecture, Best Interior Design, Best Overall Home and People’s Choice Award during the 2014 Colorado Springs Parade of Homes. Let’s take a look at all the stunning features in this home!
The Outside Facade:
Mixing a traditional farmhouse cottage with a barn-like appearance, the home is inviting and architecturally interesting.
Beautifully Lit at Night:
The Entry:
Unique windows line the hallway where you can peek into another room. A beautiful runner, lighting feature and wood plank wall make a stunning first impression.
Open Concept Living, Dining and Kitchen:
From the entry, you flow into an open living area that is flooded with natural light from large windows and doors to the deck. Pastel colors paired with plaid and flower patterns create a cozy farmhouse feel. Family dinners, homework and relaxation can all be enjoyed in this open floor plan.
White subway tiles line the back-splash and mix perfect with the high-end cabinetry and stainless hardware.
Step through the blue door to find a small pantry and extra prep area. There will never be too many cooks in this kitchen!
Separate play area or additional dining space:
The homeowners use this space as a game room. For holidays or parties, it can be used as additional dining space.
Master Bedroom:
The master bedroom features a vaulted ceiling with wood plank details. The soft blue walls and white fabrics display a tranquil, peaceful haven.
Master En-Suite Bathroom:
Relaxation continues in this gorgeous on-suite complete with a soaking tub.
Window Seat:
Traveling up the stairs, you’re greeted with windows and a window seat that travels the length of the landing.
Reading Nook:
Continue down the hall, you will find a reading nook, complete with comfy chairs and two workstations for homework or crafts.
Girls Room:
Light and airy, the girls room features unique lighting features and flowered bedspreads. The shades of green and yellow create a feminine and relaxing feel.
Boys Room:
The boys room continues with the country theme. Complementing the passions of the boys, sports memorabilia is added around the room giving a personal touch.
Basement:
The basement is the ultimate area to entertain! A reclaimed wood concession stand opens to a kitchen area that welcomes fun. Complete with games, extra sleeping quarters and barn wood doors, the basement is a gathering place for all ages.

It’s “en suite,” not “on suite,” French!
