What Does Fiberglass Reinforced Mean?

When purchasing a vinyl flooring, you may see fiberglass reinforced as a special feature on the box. What does this mean?

You Want Fiberglass Reinforced Vinyl

When a vinyl has fiberglass in its construction, the back of the vinyl is more rigid. This rigidity eases the installation process as well as creates a more durable and stronger plank. Vinyl planks with fiberglass can be installed either as loose lay or fully adhered with glue.

What Other Benefits Does Fiberglass Have?

Fiberglass creates better stability and resistance when it comes to moisture, shrinking, and cracking. You won’t have to worry about curled edges or damage with this added bonus to your vinyl flooring!

Hi Nancy – A floating vinyl plank flooring is a vinyl flooring that is installed in planks that is installed by floating it over a sub floor. It is actually a very popular type of flooring! We actually sell floating vinyl plank flooring at Bestlaminate. Sometimes floating floors are called “Click-Lock” flooring, because it clicks and locks into place – sometimes the words used can be confusing and that’s okay!

Floating vinyl plank flooring is great if you are installing in an area in your home that is prone to moisture damage, such as basements, bathrooms, mudrooms, and kitchens! Vinyl plank flooring is also great for those who are on a budget and would like to install flooring on their own. It is very easy to install vinyl plank flooring all on your own since all you do is click and lock it into place.

If you have any more questions, or would like to order some free floating vinyl plank flooring samples, please feel free to call us at 1-800-520-0961 and we would be happy to help get you on your way to your perfect flooring!
