Labeled the “Field of Dreams Home”, home builder Scott Maynes and his sister, designer Karen Jones, created this farmhouse with a traditional focus that blended with the modern necessities of the 21st century. Building this home for a larger family, space, functionality, and lifestyle were huge factors in the design. All About Home Design chose a Quick-Step Malted Tawny Oak Laminate to lay throughout the home. With tough durability and a waterproof surface, this laminate works perfectly with a busy household.

No detail was overlooked in this farmhouse build, which won awards such as Best Craftsmanship, Best Kitchen, Best Floorplan, Best Exterior Architecture, Best Interior Design, Best Overall Home and People’s Choice Award during the 2014 Colorado Springs Parade of Homes. Let’s take a look at all the stunning features in this home!
The Outside
Mixing a traditional farmhouse cottage with a barn-like appearance, the home is inviting and architecturally interesting. You enter through a beautiful covered porch with pastel rocking chairs.

First Floor Open Concept
The first floor of the farmhouse features a beautiful open concept with unique features and tons of light.

From the shiplap entry, you flow into an open living area that is flooded with natural light from large windows and doors to the back deck. Pastel colors paired with plaid and floral patterns create a cozy farmhouse feel.

The living room flows right into the dining room and into the white farmhouse kitchen. Family dinners, homework, and relaxation can all be enjoyed in this open floor plan. A large wall of sliding glass doors open to a large back deck.

The white, farmhouse kitchen may not have much color, but it has a lot of style. Custom moldings and classic cabinets give this kitchen a farmhouse chicness.

The large island houses extra counter space, seating and a large farmhouse sink. This is the perfect spot to entertain and gather the family to help cook or bake.

Pastel details and pops of color draw the eye around the kitchen. A bright blue door leads you to a hidden butlers pantry.

The butlers pantry offers extra storage, an additional sink and refrigerator.

The dining room table has bright yellow chairs to stand out and pop in the open space. It is surrounded by large windows and the same floor-to-ceiling curtains.

Second Floor
A staircase framed in white molding leads you to the second floor, which opens to a hallway with bench seating and an open great room. The room has been designed as a homework or game spot for the family to gather.

From here, you can find the children’s bedrooms and the master suite. Each bedroom has a unique personality. The girls room is light and airy with flowers and patterns.

While the boys room is patriotic and styled with red, grays and blues.

Master Bedroom and Bath
The master suite continues to have large, picturesque windows and a pastel blue palette. A vaulted ceiling and simple decor touches make this room a cozy oasis.

The master bath features a wonderful soaker tub, lots of natural light and beautiful details.

Basement
Last, but not least, is the huge basement. The builder used both laminate and carpet to create an entertaining space plus guest bedroom. The laminate is a great option for a basement and will hold up to any spills made in the ice cream parlor.
