Versatrim Stair Nose Molding Installation
A stair nose is a rounded edge molding to finish off a laminate stair installation. It creates a visually appealing and function edge to your stairs
7 – 9.5mm in thickness floors – Installation WITHOUT using Shim for floors
Step 1: Sweep and clean your new laminate to remove dust and any scraps that may be on the laminate and in the edges.
Step 2: Gather tools needed. Click here to find out which tools you’ll need for your installation.
Step 3: Install the riser flush to the Stair. Leave 1-5/8″ (41mm) distance between the outer edge of the riser and the laminate floor. Put down two lines of construction adhesive.
Step 4: Firmly screw the molding to the stair. Finish up the 6 x 1-1/4” screws with a color matching Color Fill.
9.5mm – 12mm in thickness floors – Installation WITH Shim for floors
Step 1: Sweep and clean your new laminate to remove dust and any scraps that may be on the laminate and in the edges.
Step 2: Gather tools needed. Click here to find out which tools you’ll need for your installation.
Step 3: Install the riser flush to the Stair! Leave 1-5/8″ (41mm) distance between the outer edge of the riser and the laminate floor. Put down two lines of construction adhesive.
Step 4: Place the Shim on the bottom of the molding and predrill and countersink the stair nose in a distance of approximately 10″.
Step 5: Firmly screw the molding to the stair. Finish up the 6 x 1-1/4” screws with a color matching Color Fill
