Bestlaminate History

You might know that Bestlaminate is a family-owned business, but the backstory is much richer than that. In 2003, the husband-and-wife partners started their flooring business out of their garage.

Remi and Kasia haven’t always lived in the United States. Before setting up shop in Cleveland, Ohio, their family lived in Poland.

Wanting better care and education for their children, they moved to the United States in 2003. Remi, an inventor, brought his creation with him to America to start a promotional business. They packed their belongings, filled their container, and made the move to America. Bestlaminate HistoryTo split their relocation cost, Kasia and Remi brought a few skids of European laminate flooring with the intent to sell it. After getting settled into their new home, they started working in the promotional business selling branded copies of Remi’s invention [IQ Clip]. Unfortunately, that business was not as successful as they had hoped. While struggling, they decided to sell the laminate flooring they brought over in the newspaper ads. In 2003, they sold their first ten skids of laminate flooring right from their garage. The response to their ad was overwhelming and they continued to sell what they could. Soon, their neighbors, friends, and friends of their friends came to their house to find attractive, durable laminate flooring at affordable prices.

Everyone loved the high-quality European floors that they were selling for much less than the local stores. The flooring business began to take off, and Kasia wanted to grow the business into a retail location and expand the flooring selection. Five months later, Kasia and Remi opened their first store in December of 2003. Shortly after, they expanded to three stores around the Cleveland area. 

They sold to homeowners, home builders, and construction companies. When the market started to fizzle in 2008, and construction projects ceased, they decided to expand into new markets. They closed two of their three stores and focused on building Bestlaminate online. In January of 2015, the company relocated to a new, location in Willoughby, Ohio offering modern workspace, a big showroom for their local customers, and spacious warehouses for their growing list of products.

From the start, Bestlaminate has been self-financed, focused on keeping overhead costs at a minimum and working with strategic partners in both Europe and North America to give their customers the best possible value. With manufacturers demanding minimum retail prices, discontinuing popular styles, and complicating the order processes with stock issues, Kasia and Remi began developing a private-label line of flooring to meet customers’ needs without the middleman.

In 2018, the couple began developing their first Bestlaminate flooring collection of laminates and luxury vinyl with their manufacturing network throughout Asia and Europe. By 2020, the Bestlaminate brand, alongside four Bestlaminate private label collections, secured Trademark Patents to ensure authenticity, and to prohibit any replicas. 

Utilizing the inside knowledge of both European and American trends and technology, Bestlaminate has grown their Bestlaminate brand of flooring to over 50 popular decors!

With the continued growth of the Bestlaminate brand and online storefront, Bestlaminate launched a new, state-of-the-art website in 2022. The online storefront provides an easy-to-use interface for an improved online shopping experience, including a square footage calculator, search functionality, a modernized appearance, a room viewer visualizer, an abundance of learning resources, and a gallery where they feature customers' projects.

Along with the storefront, Bestlaminate also implemented order processing technology to improve processing times, reduce costs, and cut waste with a paperless system.

In 2022, Kasia and Remi unveiled a new Bestlaminate headquarters in their home country of Poland, expanding the Bestlaminate brand to all European countries. European customers now have access to the same stylish and affordable laminated flooring products that are offered here in the US. The Polish headquarters features a showroom, office, and spacious warehouse to stock Bestlaminate products.
