I used this product in a front room that used to be a porch where I have a carpet remnant. It seems to help the draft coming through the floorboards and carpet. I also used in a closet where the floor seems colder than the rest of the house. Anything to reduce drafts and control energy bills. There was a strong odor but it went away. Very easy to use.

It's suitable for the ground or first floor as it prevents your room from moisture. However, I've never tried it on the second floor, so I have no idea whether it might prevent squeaking there.

Works great under the floor we are installing. Moisture barrier and felt to deaden the sound. Little hard to cut accurately but can be trimmed easily. Glad I chose to use. Will buy again.
